Red Pandas

Discovery Trail- Red Pandas. April 19, 2013.
Just found out that these are Styan's Red Pandas (A. f. refulgens) if anyone is interested.

If they are Styan's Red Pandas, then they would be Ailurus fulgans styani as the name A. f. refulgens is no longer recognised. How do you know they are A. f. styani and not the nominate subspecies?

Yes I've since learned that but never corrected it here, thanks. The old ISIS reports list them as Styan's Red Pandas. Also, I've always thought styani had a difference, darker look to them than fulgens. Quite a few zoos have the ssp here and I've seen them at the Roger Williams Park Zoo and the Cincinnati Zoo also.

Cool, does that mean you have seen both subspecies?
