This is the back entrance to the building - gates open to the surrounding park. This entrance is used by docents and by visitors to special events. Regular zoo visitors access it from the other side - inside the zoo.
As I have stated elsewhere, this green technology building is the first one in any zoo to receive LEED Platinum level certification by the Green Building Council. (Cincinnati's new entrance is the second).
