Why have so many tamanduas and no exhibit or education program for introducing them to the Reid Park zoo goers?

It be wonderful if some were sent to other zoos to mate. Is there a SSP for tamanduas?

Not sure. We have been told that we are one of only three US zoos that are breeding tamanduas. I believe this one (named Quito) will likely go to another zoo when he is a bit older.

Would be nice to have a pleasant little exhibit for them tucked into the South America section though...

The parents aren't on display?

And the parents aren't raising them?

I wonder if Buffalo Zoo ever intended to breed their tamanduas before the female passed away. I wish they consider it in the future.
