they are malayan tigers, but this supspecies was recognized in 2007, so zoos with Indochinese tigers(who all turned out to be Malayan tigers), had to change the zoo signs, but that takes time and some zoos don't even want to recognize the supspecies(Berlin...).
The label said Indochinese tiger, I have not looked at my notes until now, so never paid it a thought, although I knew about the regognition of the new species recently but did not think of it when I was uploading to the Prague Zoo section in the middle of the night. But I will change the title and text of the photo now.
It is surely Malayan Tiger and Prague Zoo certainly wants to recognise the subspecie as they brought new blood to Europe population - young male from Lok Kawi in Malaysia (no breeding so far). Why they have the misleading sign there I have no idea.
Incidentally, are you saying that the tigers at Berlin Zoo are also Malayan? ISIS lists 2 x Indochinese at Berlin TP but nothing at all at Berlin Zoo. When I was at Berlin Zoo March 2009, they had what were labelled as Indochinese (corbetti)?

As far as I'm aware, all the European population of corbetti was reclassified as jacksoni by the studbook when the split was made. Whether Berlin choose to accept that is a different question!
Yep they are all jacksoni, but the both Berlin zoos(Zoo and Tierpark) haven't recognized this supspecies. ISIS entries for Zoo Berlin are very scarce and always wrong, the TP Berlin entries at ISIS are all a few years old, so they aren't correct.
