What is your opinion of this zoo BeardsleyZooFan? It looks like a nice medium-sized zoo from the photos and from what I have read about it. It's a shame that the polar bear exhibit didn't work out, but they seem to have a nice collection.

I believe that it is the finest zoo in New England, with Southwick's close behind. It's Asian section is the best IMO, with Fabric of Africa as a close second. It has a very nice collection with some animals that can't be found anywhere else in New England or the Northeast (Sichuan Takin, Red River Hogs, King Vultures, Asiatic Black Bears, etc.), and with plans for more new exhibits to make up for the loss of the Polar Bear exhibit being cancled, I'd definately say that it's well worth a visit if you are in the area. I did a review of Roger Williams on this thread: http://www.zoochat.com/22/best-zoo-new-england-275790/

The Northeast includes New York and I know at least Bronx has both RRHs and King Vulture.

It is the only zoo in the Northeast for now with Sichuan Takin, Asiatic Black Bears, and more. It is the only zoo as of right now in New England that houses Red River Hogs, King Vultures, and more. That's why I said New England or the Northeast. Perhaps I should have said New England and/or Northeast.
