They really do look like they're smiling, don't they?
The Quokkas around the Main Settlement at Rottnest are very friendly, and will come up to people seemingly smiling at them. I don't think I've seen them look so smiley in zoos before, I suppose it's just that they're not usually as tame in zoos as these wild ones are!
