I believe this entire exhibit should just be destroyed, along with all the other small, ugly, wire mesh enclosures like the White Faced Saki, Mangabey, and the African Crested Porcupine. Enclosures should resemble the inhabitants natural habitat, not a barely functional, steel cage with concrete floors.

I agree 100%, and the zoo has a number of small enclosures that badly need to be bulldozed. The mongoose lemurs have lots of branches to leap from, but the lack of height in the cage is worrying for such an active, predominantly arboreal species.

Bulldozing is in the near future for the exhibits that you are talking about. Hopefully all of the old substandard primate exhibits like this will be gone soon and replace with new ones. Hopefully the hyena (formerly grizzly bear) grotto will also SOON be upgraded into something much better and more modern as the adjoining snow leopard (former sloth bear grotto) and giant anteater (former polar bear grotto) have been.
Has there been recent plans or announcements about the debut of the new primate complex. Will there be any new species added to the collection when costruction is complete?
