This historic old Bird House is beautifully brought up-to-date and contains an excellent collection. The use of piano wire and dimmed lighting make for outstanding viewing.
I've never visited the St. Louis Zoo (and it's probably the most famous American zoo that I've not seen so one day I should certainly make a point of going there) and I've heard from many ZooChatters that this FREE zoo is a combination of old, heritage-based European-style buildings combined with a series of much more modern, naturalistic exhibits.
