I'd agree that it is the #1 Asian elephant exhibit in America, and there are actually 3 elephant enclosures that seem to meld into one giant paddock but are in fact distinctly separate exhibits. It is interesting that there are perhaps 10 great African elephant exhibits in the United States, but it is difficult to come up with a handful of excellent Asian elephant facilities. Maybe Denver Zoo will come up with a great Asian elephant exhibit in 2012 as part of "Asian Tropics", although there the elephants will be rotating with Indian rhinos and Malayan tapirs.
Though this may be the #1 Asian Elephant exhibit, I feel that it is not as great as people say that it is. Its definitely wrapped in a nice landscape outside, but the borders of the exhibit are clear and feel a bit constricting. I believe the second enclosure is far better but this one is probably the worse.
As for Denver, I hope they do make an Asian elephant exhibit superior to this. They seem to give a lot of space and I think the rotation of the exhibits will be a plus as long as all the exhibits are fit for the Elephants.
