Many people hail Saint Louis as being one of the best zoos for birds, as between the Bird House, Cypress Swamp and the other exhibits (such as America's largest captive collection of waterfowl in the Chain of Lakes zone) it is a mecca for folks who enjoy birds. One of the best aspects of the Bird House is the use of thin wire to separate human visitors from their avian counterparts, as there is the sense that nothing is between them.
