Are the outdoor penguin exhibit and the indoor penguin exhibit connected in the same complex, or are they completely separate from each other?

There is a waiting line to get into the indoor penguin and puffin exhibits, as the don't want it too crowded in there. The line waits right next to the Humboldt penguin exhibit.

On my two visits to the Saint Louis Zoo, I never had to wait in line to go inside; 2008 & 2010.

There was on my visit in 2010, though not in 2011. Strange, as it was during Spring Break.

It must only form lines during peak season because we too did not have to wait during our visit this October.

My, actually 3 visits, were in early October of 2008 and 2 days in September 2010; the 20th and 21st.
