This looks like a new exhibit for them. When I was last there they were in the wetlands exhibit. This used to be a river otter exhibit, and before that sea lions.

There were Tomistoma in the wetland exhibit when I was there. This would no doubt have been a nice otter exhibit but I'm somehow not as sure with regards to sea lions.
 
Yeah the tomistoma have always (relatively) been where they are. The orinocos used to be near the bird house in those water fowl exhibits.

There are actually three spaces like this that were connected for the sea lions - they had a large circular area for swimming, with underwater viewing for the patrons. Very nice and actually spacious for its day (1950s-early 70s).
