The best hippo exhibit there is and one of my all time favorite exhibits with crystal clear water, lush green foliage and an awesome specie of pachyderm.
I am not sure the exact numbers, but a lot of the land is taken up by foliage. Nile Hippos like these barely ever venture out of the water during the day except to eat and rest, and considering hippos eat at night I don't think they require a lot of land space. Here they have a decent amount.
They have a beach. That would not constitute as "grazing space" No grass growing in the hippo enclosure, and said "foliage is in planters up out of the exhibit. The viewing is great, but a large open-range hippo exhibit at the WAP would be awesome.
