This might well be one of the largest rattlesnake exhibits in existence in any zoo, as more often than normal snakes have extremely limited surroundings in cages.

Yes, the exhibit is larger than most, but much of it is vertical space (air) of no use to any snake. The glass surrounding the exhibit is difficult to see through due in part to no efforts being made to minimize or control glare. And the terrible-quality artificial rock is made even more blatantly fake with the obvious keeper door and ventilation grille stuck into it. Moreover, having the snakes' habitable space down at ground level will make it more difficult to get a close view of the animals, even if one could fight through all the reflections and glare. But the sad thing is, even with all of these flaws, this may be the best animal enclosure in all of Elephant Odyssey
First off while rattlesnakes can't take advantage of all the vertical space, your comment that it's of no use to any snake is incorrect.
Secondly, the exhibit is not hard to see into at all.
The rock work is fine imo.
By hard to get a close up view, do you mean crouching down is hard?
Or that looking down from eye level is not a close up view?
The condor exhibit is great and the jaguar exhibit looks very good as well, as well as the turtle/frog/lizard exhibit.
And obviously I think the elephant exhibit is good, it is for the animals and for getting up close views of the elephants, but obviously has the utilitrees and elephant house to take away from its appearance, plus the lack of grass and real trees.

I personally think the elephant exhibit looks great. I think though that the utilitrees will look a lot better when the Acacia trees grow over, and it will be nice for the elephants to enjoy them for browse.
Acacias, like most every tree, grows UP towards the light. Some type of vine might be trained to grow down from the tops of the "utilitrees," but I just can't see acacia doing it. so I'm not sure how it will ever be a source of"browse" unless someone goes up and harvests it, which would be a waste since there's plenty of ground level browse to harvest at the zoo.
