I am glad to see rattlesnakes getting a large exhibit, since snakes are the one category of animals that usually get the shaft in zoos. Of course I don't know what good all that empty vertical space will do for a snake, but nice nonetheless.

No, the people on the far right are in a corner of the exhibit on the outside. The glass turns in right in front of where they are (although I could see how it looks like they are inside).
I believe there were three rattlesnakes in this large area. Behind it there are also a couple smaller, more traditional reptile-house enclosures with rattlesnakes. The big exhibit I think had speckled, tiger and red rattlesnakes.
