They was in fact labeled as Pauxi pauxi, and in Zootierliste they appear as this species. However, look at them! With these clearly pointed "horns" it's much closer to P. unicornis than to P. pauxi, with rounded knobs. A keeper of this zoo, very friend of mine, thinks that maybe they're hybrids, but I would not be surprised by finding that they're pure Northerns.
I've taken care for both species at Walsrode and the left bird surtainly is a Northern Helmed curassow = Pauxi pauxi. The right bird is badly to say but seen the rarety of the Southern Helmed currasow = Pauxi unicornis I guess this also is a 'normal' Northern.
However I saw some images at Google and some of the individuals have a more sharp knob. OK, I will change it. Thanks for telling me!

You're very lucky for get a job in the mythical Walsrode!!! That's a place that I would like very much to visit, but at the moment I can't because is not very good communicated by public transport. I need desperately a job... I have some experience caring for animals (farm animals, raptors, small carnivores, parrots and exotic birds) and I would like to get a job in any zoo, if you can get me a job...

Do not go overboard with the difficult access to Weltvogelpark Walsrode. From the train station in Walsrode quite regularly goes to park the bus. The city center is about 3 km to the park - you can go on foot. Taxis also are not that expensive. If you are interested in birds are sincerely recommend you to visit this place. I've was there seven times, and for several years I go every year. Every time there is a minimum two days visit and always see something new for me
Yes, maybe some year, when I have enough money for travel again. At the moment my job situation is very delicate for me. But I always wished to visit Walsrode because I know well what species can be found here, some as mythical as Long-tailed Ground Roller, Horned Guan, etc etc.
