I know that the new Ungulate Taxonomy states that the Rothschild's (which, by the way, they synonimize with the Nubian) and the Southern are the largest species while the Reticulated is the smallest.
Compared to the father, and the several newborns I've seen up close in the Los Angeles Zoo's nursery pen, this baby Masai Giraffe's height looks pretty normal to me.
