They've fallen because they don't have Sumatran Rhinos anymore or because they display cheetahs/arctic wolves/New Guinea Singing Dogs/and domestic dogs?
My point was that their training techniques are not a bad thing, just that they are on display instead of Sumatran rhinoceros.
Right, and I'm not discounting the training techniques. It's just a general culture of being an institution that displays Sumatran rhinos to being an institution that displays domestic donkeys and yellow labrador retrievers. To be fair, it's not JUST San Diego, that's the nature of zoos in general as collections strive for sustainability, the contrast is just most notable in San Diego.
