Reptile Mesa - Gharial Exhibit

Were there any gharials in the exhibit, or are they still waiting to bring in new animals?

No gharials. There was a small 8.5x11 paper sign saying that there were no gharials. Hopefully the import from Madras goes through soon.

When was the last time the zoo had Gharials? Last time I was at the zoo (2009), they were nowhere to be found.

Is it just me or is the few places that had gharials had them removed. Bushgarden's gharials wern't there in 2010 and reading someones (geo's? still getting to know people here) latest review apparently they still arn't there. MIA gharials aside that a pretty awesome way to display a skeleton at an exhibit.

Oh and one question. Why do I keep seeing birds on glass viewing elements????? Not just in this photo but other zoos as well.

The bird stickers are there to stop real live birds from crashing into the glass and dying.

ow... that just a painful way of wording it. I figured it was some sort of reason like that. I guess the birds I didn't think were capable of making a connection from a sticker to glass are actually smarter then I thought.
