These black metal cages are sitting here inviting criticism from all quarters, and I'm not quite sure why they have been allowed to remain on view. A binturong can be seen sleeping on each ledge (far left in the left-hand cage and far right in the right-hand cage) and the enclosures are not very large and far from pleasing to the eye. Why would such a great zoo, with many above-average enclosures, allow such metal boxes to be seen?
I really was looking forward to going to this zoo in the summer but this is one prime example why im not going now. I'd rather go to woodland park zoo, denver zoo or minnesota zoo. I can't believe for a popular zoo the exhibits are that bad. wow san diego
Bravo! It seems as if San Diego Zoo rarely has a month elapse without some kind of construction project in progress. Reptile Mesa and Outback both have crews at work, and is it true that both areas will be finished by spring 2013?

I wish they would provide a better binturong exhibit for them. Perhaps moving the to Monkey Trails? They are such a great species to see when active and climbing. I remember this experience when seeing them in Taronga in such an enclosure.
