Seattle's exhibit may have cost more and bear more resemblance to a Brazilian rainforest but let us not forget that jaguars are adaptable creatures, as most big cats are, and are found in all kinds of environments in South and Central America, including the pampas of North Argentina and Paraguay. So, provided the San Diego Zoo’s plan was to create a realistic replica of the jaguar’s natural environment, they did a very good job indeed.
