But the design type has been around forever. LA use to have several similar to it in the old Children's Zoo and one where the Meerkat exhibit is now. I can remember that one housing Grizzled Gray Tree Kangaroos and Black Lemurs back in the 1970s; at separate times of course.
These corn crib cages were constructed as "temporary" housing for the primates that were displaced by the demolition of the Monkey Quadrangle while they waited for the construction of Monkey Trails.
