Scanned San Diego Zoo Photos 1992-2001

saiga (Saiga tatarica)
This is a healthy looking specimen !!!, these are Russian saiga (Saiga tatirica tatirica), I dont think Mongolian saigas (Saiga tatirica mongolica) have ever been in zoos, correct me if I am wrong, and also I have a question, is Askainya Nova Zoopark the only zoo left that has Saiga ???, and also why did Moscow Zoo Breeding Center phase them out ???

When I first started visiting zoos (as an adult) circa 1990 I remember seeing these at both San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.
