I never got to see them interact with the monkeys sadly,but still,seeing them in the water was so fun. I'm surprised they still keep the red river hogs with the forest buffalo. Last time I was there the hogs were agitating it. By the way,does anyone how many forest buffalo San Diego has? I think it's just the one,but I could be mistaken.
There are still otters in this exhibit or there was last time I looked. Helen is the zoo's only Forest Buffalo and I believe the only one in United States zoos. When they shipped the others out (I don't know when) they thought she was too old but she surprised them.

Do you know if there are still North American river otters at the zoo, Betsy? They had been replaced by some (apparently not all) of the spot-necked otters in the children's zoo otter exhibit when I was at the zoo in March.
