The exhibit now makes allot more sense and it actually a really good size with plenty of opportunity to loose line of sight of each other. When l visited last all the gorillas were by the large viewing windows. The other view over the huge waterfall seemed like a huge waste of space!
I can only guess they really enjoy looking back at all the people who camp out to watch them — not many people ever wait over on the waterfall side for them to come by. But after going to my hometown zoo in Chicago which has no respite for the gorillas to get "off-view", I'm certain it's a great mental relief for them to know there are areas they can retire to if they want to.
