Without necessarily trying to, I saw Sumatran rhinos at all four public zoos they were displayed in here in America during this time period - Bronx, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, San Diego. No very good photos, however.
In the whole history of Sumatran rhinos in captivity in the United States, Bronx Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo, Los Angeles Zoo, and San Diego Zoo were not the only facilities that kept them, they were also kept at Smithsonian National Zoo, White Oak Conservation Center, and Kings Island Wild Animal Habitat (Now closed), I don't have exact dates for those places but I have a general ideas as to when they were kept at each of those places, but I will do more research on that
Were there really Sumatran rhinos at the Smithsonian National Zoo? I'm not sure that this is accurate. If they were there where were they kept? In the old elephant house?

Well before any of us were conceived. In 1893, the Adam Forepaugh Circus loaned a Sumatran Rhino, amongst several other rare species, to the Smithsonian National Zoo. Apparently the circus took it on the road again in 1896.
From 1902-1908, Ringling Bros. circus also had a Sumatran Rhinoceros on tour.
From 1872-73 and 1881-86 Barnum toured with a Sumatran.
Another Sumatran toured on the Forepaugh Circus again from 1872-75.
