I agree, the new fish launcher will be really cool, and really enriching for the jaguars because they won't know if the fish will be in the stream that day or not meaning they will have to investigate.
I bet those sprouts of grass will grow pretty high, might actually resemble real ground. So... what's next? Rip up Reptile Mesa? Thats what I hear was being planned awhile ago, keeping the Indian Gharial exhibit.
Someone on here, maybe Ituri said that an african savanah is planned for the old elephant mesa. They obviously have to do something with at least the old elephant exhibit if not that entire area.
I think there's a lot of stuff they should deal with before upgrading the reptile exhibits. Both sides of cat canyon along with many of the small cages that host monkeys and other small animals are primary examples.
They're not redoing it, just the elephant exhibit which will be "re-aranged" for Rhinos instead of elephants. They were repainting the old elephant barn when I was there.
Ok, well I guess he heard wrong or they changed their mind or this is just a temporary solution. I do like that the rhino's are getting the bigger exhibit if that is indeed the case though.
I was told 3 years ago that Reptile Mesa was going to be changed, at least the small reptile houses along it. Two staff members were talking about demolition and such for the out-dated reptile enclosures.
