@Ituri: Me too. It was such a great experience. You were able to see ALL of the exhibits and the ride was included in the entrance fee.

I must clarify my last post: Although the ride ITSELF is included again in the entrance fee, it is not in the way it was before. Means: Some areas like Asian Waterhole do not belong to this tour.

Actually, this ride is entirely gone--there is no more monorail at the "Safari Park." And I believe the only way to see the large field exhibits requires separate admission to ride on the new trams that only visit a couple of the big habitats. Hugely devalued experience from the "good old days."

No it isn't - it now costs $10 extra. Thankfully, they at least make it free for members (and I am a member). But the new ride is too short for those of us ZooChatters. For the general public, however, they may prefer it that way. Someone who used to work at my zoo said the Wild Animal Park actually got complaints about the old monorail being too long (I assume the complaints were only from people with small children). Imagine that - 50 minutes is too long??? I hope these people never go on a real safari.

While a circus and safari park is totally different, I remember Jimmy Chipperfield saying in his autobiography that, when I was running the family circus, he made sure not to have any scene longer than 6 minutes, or else people attention span would be gone and they'd get bored.
