Thanks for the quick reply.
I suppose given the size it should be ok. Still not sure it's the greatest idea in the world though, especially with males and young in there. What chance would anything else have against an aggresive bull trying to protect his offspring and females? I'd hate to be say a gazelle or something similar and see one of these bad boys hurtling towards me!
Would be interesting to hear if there have been any incidents there!
I'm assuming they must have had an incident or two througout the years but obviously not enough to seperate them. On the tour they told us the cape buffalo they had were not that agressive. Unlike the gaur they have in the other paddock. Which I guess are very agressive and the other hoofstock stay pretty clear.
I never knew they mixed gaur in the Asian paddock, SDWAP must have a deathwish for some of their smaller antelope!
I'm guessing the gaur are mixed with Indian rhino? That'd be a stand-off I wouldn't like to witness.
Africa Alive isn't that big really, got a nice collection though. I've never been to Knowlsley so can't comment. The other big parks I've seen in the UK are West Midlands Safari Park, Woburn and Longleat. All 3 are traditional safari parks with a lot of space but even then they have some inadequate exhibits.
