I didn't hear anything at all, but I can recall reading that 2013 is the projected opening year. San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Woodland Park Zoo and Phoenix Zoo might all possibly have brand new Sumatran tiger exhibits finished by late 2013.
Does anybody know if the final designs for the tiger complex include any species beyond the tigers as originally planned, or did these "extra" exhibits get axed?
I have no concrete knowledge, but my gut tells me that they may have been axed. I know they had fundraising difficulties, and none of the current promotional information and recent press articles mention anything but the actual tiger exhibit.
If anyone knows for sure one way or the other, it would be nice to find out.
