Four. Two elderly polar bears (one is 31, the other is 30), and the grizzly sisters. Though, the grizzly sisters spend a minimal amount of time in the eastern most grotto, closest to Grizzly Gulch.
The enlargement of the polar bear grotto was completed early July, connecting the old Andean bear Grotto (shown in the picture above) with the adjacent polar bear grotto (http://www.zoochat.com/604/polar-bear-grotto-1-2013-a-321968/); and landscaping the polar bear grotto with natural substrate (grass, soil) while the Andean bear remained largely unchanged.
