Future Wolverine Exhibit

This is the former enclosure for the zoo's elderly grey seal that passed away two(?) years ago now. It's now being rehabbed for wolverines. They've added some trees since Chimpangeek's last photo, but there's a lot of work to go still.

The building in the background is the former pachyderm building, and this is around the corner from the zoo's Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros and Lion Fountain.

This photo was taken in May so I'm sure the exhibit has been planted. How lush and naturalistic it will be is still uncertain.

Given the size and amplitude of the depicted planted vegetation, I'm doubtful that the general look of the exhibit has improved. And wouldn't lush vegetation obstruct the view on the beautifual background mural? ;)

So with the wolverines and Komodo dragons is the San Francisco Zoo's new master plan to just bring in random cool animals that they can fit into the decaying hulks of their old exhibits?

The Dragon, Red Pandas and Wolverines are publicity stunts, to bring more people to the zoo, to help the zoo financially so they'll have the money for bigger projects. Attendance has been up the past few years, so it seems to be working
