The signs on the exhibit have not been changed yet for some reason, but most of the giraffes in this exhibit including this baby, are Masai giraffes. There is one elderly Baringo giraffe left as of the date this photo was taken.
The baby was unexpected as they didn't know that its mother was pregnant when she got to Santa Barbara from the LA Zoo.
