Penguin Encounter - Magellanic Penguin Exhibit

September 2014. This exhibit complex is composed of an outdoor exhibit for Magellanic penguin, an indoor exhibit for Emperor and King and Macaroni and Gentoo and Adelie penguins, and an indoor exhibit for tufted puffin and Atlantic puffin and common murre.

How do you feel that Penguin Encounter is holding up in the world of modern penguin exhibits, geomorph?

I saw it about 20 years ago and thought it was great. There have been a lot of new penguin exhibits built since then and I'm curious if this still holds up as one of the greats.

Yes it is still one of the greats! I mourn the loss of its counterpart in Orlando, although I have not seen it's replacement there. The exhibit pictured here has a few problems though...the backdrop of the building is too stark and the temptation for visitors to lean over the railing is too great.
