You guys have it all wrong. This is clearly a roller coaster track, and Sedgwick is to be commended on beating Busch Gardens and DAK on having the world's first roller coaster tortoise viewing. :D

Hahaha, I can't beleive I didn't realize this. Busch Gardens and DAK have nothing that can compare to this :D

I'm feeling really thick here, but I can make neither head nor tail of this photo. It looks like an art shot. Do the visitors stand on the right? What are the wierd horizontal railings? What's the broad whitish band across the left side? I don't understand the photo/exhibit at all!

The whole exhibit is in the shape of a semi-circle. Visitors walk all the way around it. The white part on the left is the tortoise exhibit. The railing is just some kind of strange barrier. THe part on the right is the visitor walkway. Its in a reptile house, so people walk by this exhibit.

KCZooFan got it right. Thank you.

We are not too proud of this exhibit and why it was designed this way in the first place beats me. However our current curator would love to redo this exhibit in a naturalistic setting if given a chance and the money, so it would be better for the tortoise and for the viewing by visitors.
