I visited the National Zoo last week and really liked the new elephant exhibit, especially the conservation messages and exhibits at the Elephant Outpost. Is there currently any indoor viewing of the elephants, or is that all under construction?

You are correct. This is currently closed and is being remodeled into the new community center. Overall, this is a spectacular exhibit. I visited last August and it is coming together nicely. There are no indoor viewing area for the elephants, so visiting the website to get an idea when the elephants may be out would be helpful.
