Two questions:
1. Is this the real Smokey the Bear who inspired the cartoon? I know he was a black bear that lived at the National Zoo.
2. Where was this exhibit in the zoo? Was it replaced by the Asia trail?
Hey David, I don't know if it is Smokey, but the timing is right. I am not sure what the exhibit was turned into. I know we were doing a whole area that I think was Beaver Valley, but I think Asia trail came in later. Sorry I am not much help, all I remember was we were doing all of the work in tents in about 20 degrees. Heaters put it about 40 degrees if we were lucky. I guess that is still better than when we did the Kuwait aquarium in 140 degrees, we had 3 labors get 3rd degree burns from picking up rebar without having there gloves on. what a great place to work!!!
