National Zoo - Beaver Exhibit

July 2008.
I remember the Asian Small-clawed Otter was housed next to the beavers....what occupies that enclosure now?

On one side are mexican gray wolves, but on the nearby side there are river otters...which must be the exhibit that you are referring to.

I was there today, otters were in this enclosure, beavers in the one next to it closer to the wolves. Asian small clawed otters in Asia Trail.

Does anybody know if the beaver exhibit still exists? The whole section of the zoo where it is (or used to be) was a construction zone in summer 2011 when I visited.

So they are getting a new exhibit? This really looks more like for an otter then a beaver. Ive been looking around and found only a few beaver exhibits that actually seem like they are for beavers and none that exploit its talents, but that is because they do a lot of damage. Most don't allow beavers to build their own lodges which is a shame, but I can see and understand why.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has a very cool beaver exhibit complete with underwater viewing.
