I love how the forest surronds this habitat on both sides it gives it a much more natural look, I just wish the other elephant yards would look as good as this.

Those trees have been there since way before the exhibit and there are less than 10 trees in the actual habitat as the rest were knocked down. The rest are protected by hot wire or fences. To grow a tree from scratch in an elephant yard would be very difficult.

Oh of course, you'd have to fence off the area for years. I never really noticed the trees in Bronx's exhibit were protected by hotwire or fences. Would be a cool looking exhibit, however, if they could pull it off.
