What a difference 5 years makes! The National Zoo spent a long time and over $50 million to create the new elephant complex and by next spring there will be 7 Asian Elephants (1.6) wandering around the paddocks. Calgary Zoo is sending its 3 females to join the current herd of 4 and this zoo continues to go from strength to strength.
