You can now visit the male diplomatic gift panda at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History as he is on permanent exhibit in their mammal hall.

Is the natural history museum good?:), should I make a point of visiting when I have the chance to visit one day?

It seemed to be okay, perhaps comprable to the one in London. There is a gallery for it here so you can check out pictures of it. I spent most of my very limited time there in the dinosaur hall and then zipped through the new mammal hall. If you ever do visit Washington DC then make sure that you allocate at least a couple of days for the Smithsonian museums.

Actually according to their database, the giant panda specimen of NMNH was collected in Wenchuan,Sichuan Province in 1934,so it's definitely not the diplomatic panda…
