The species in this exhibit, not shown, were a titi monkey and screaming hairy armadillo when I took this photo. Both have been moved to different exhibits in the small mammal house and the tamandua lives alone.
I visited National Zoo last week, and this exhibit no longer held the tamandua. Instead there were Prevost's squirrels there. The next door exhibit (which, as I recall, used to hold Prevost's squirrels back in March) was empty and had no sign. I wonder what happened to the tamandua and if it is going to be moved to that exhibit.

The tamanduas are back! The female was behind the scenes for about a month getting introduced to the male tamandua. The prevost squirrels were temporarily moved into this exhibit while they spruced up their exhibit. The PS have moved back to their exhibit and the two tamanduas in this one.
