Home to European Wildcats.
Home to European Wildcats.

They're a pretty common sight in European zoos (particularly smaller-to-medium-size ones). Zootierliste has 127 collections listed as holding them.

And very nice they are too.

Except that one at Duisburg. He knows why.

You guys are lucky. I only know of two places in the United States that have them: The Living Desert (California) and Great Cats World Park (Oregon). There may be a couple more, but those are the ones I know for sure.

I won't dwell on the fact that that 127 only includes ssp. silvestris, not grampia, gordoni or the other subspecies that are dotted about.

Maybe you can send us some Coyotes or Grey Foxes in exchange! :D

No problem! I live right on the edge of downtown (Tucson) and I saw a coyote in a dirt lot near my place at dusk a couple months and about a year before that at dusk I saw one crossing a very busy street at the University of Arizona. Apparently if you go out in the middle of the night they are all over the city.
