When you walk here, you can literally feel the decades of zoos past. It's quite victorian. Most of the cages are now empty and slowly being torn down, hence the fence.

This appears to be the old grizzly bear exhibit, and since the death of the bear the enclosure has been completely demolished except for the limestone columns. The indoor quarters for a pair of white-handed gibbons is finished and open to the public, and work is in progress for the outdoor yard exactly where the grizzly bear cage used to be.
