Safari Africa - Cheetah Exhibit

July 30th, 2012.
Lowry Park is a very complete zoo, with extensive North American, Asian, Australian and African sections, including this gorgeous cheetah habitat. There are manatees and koalas in the animal collection, many rides, lots of popular primates, a large children's zone, a huge free-flight aviary, and one of the best zoo restaurants (Safari Lodge) in the United States. Having said all of that, there isn't an exhibit complex that is truly outstanding, and overall the zoo is a rock-solid facility that would make a great local zoo for anyone living in Tampa. All of the major exhibits have been built since 1988 and so there is the use of modern technology in updating the establishment, and it is probably one of my favourite 25 zoos in the United States.

Lowry Park used to have Striped Hyenas that rotated with the Cheetahs on this island. However, I'm not sure what has happened to those hyenas now.
