Ground Hornbill In Tree

April 14, 2014: Southern Ground Hornbill in a tree
That's not possible though! They're called GROUND hornbills for a reason!
On a more serious note, is the exhibit open air?

Yes, the exhibit is open-air. I'm sure the hornbills have their wings clipped, but are still capable of short distances of flight, as this hornbill displayed. The two hornbills share their exhibit with Lowland Nyala, Lesser Kudu, a Marabou Stork, and there might be Bay Duikers in there as well.

In October I saw no Lesser Kudu but there were at least three Bay Duikers. :)

I'm pretty sure there were Lesser Kudu in here this April. I saw Bay Duikers in the Patas Monkey enclosure on the Safari Ride, so I was wondering if they were moved over there from here.

Very possibly - if so I'm very grateful they didn't do that nine months earlier - that ride broke down the day I was there!
