I wouldn´t call it plain stupid. This exhibit works fairly well for the local public that is not much into herps I´m affraid. I´ve checked all animal inventory lists in Dvur´s yearbooks since 2003 (I don´t have older ones) and there was no mortality by the skinks. The pair lives in this terarium, together with the pythons, as long as I can remmember and without problems.
Most mixed exhibits, for example all those hoofstock savannahs or walk-trough aviaries etc. see regularly mortalities among its inhabitans, but it´s many times seen as "predictable losses" or as "a tax paid for an exhibit popular to visitors". Just don´t ask how many marabous are trampled each year by its inmates in mixed zoo exhibits. So I still think, the depicted skink exhibit in Dvur has been successfull.
Really? Knowing what iguanas can be like that sounds kind of lethal. Although, I guess the Iguanas would be away from the boas most of the time as they're arboreal and boas aren't.
