September 1, 2012: One of the highlights of the aquarium are the river otters, Belle and Lou. They are extremely playful and energetic, and I've never once gotten a good photo of them as they never stay still, and the lighting isn't the best.

When I went they were both sleeping in a very high and hidden corner of the exhibit. I think this exhibit has too much land and too little water (width not length wise).

I'm going to have to disagree; I think that the land area is too small, and they don't have enough water either. Plus the fact that this exhibit is entirely indoors while otters are fully capable of making it through all 4 seasons in Connecticut doesn't exactly raise my opinion of the exhibit.

Well the aquarium only has half a seal exhibit outside so don't get your hopes up. I think the land area is too steep and the water is way too shallow (although if you agree that this pool is too shallow then you're in for a horror at ZooAmerica). I believe this exhibit was originally designed for African Penguins.

This section of the aquarium is completely devoted to the rivers that go into Long Island Sound. So, I'm not quite sure what you're thinking there.
The aquarium did house African Penguins for those that don't know, but only for about 2 years as a temporary exhibit that was seperate from the rest of the aquarium.

Where was the penguin exhibit anyway? Outside? Where the Meerkats are now (I don't know when they got them so...)?

I figured that's where it'd be but I haven't been to the place while either exhibit was open so I don't know the outside layout around the aquarium.
