First you touched a beluga whale at Shedd Aquarium and now an okapi at Maryland Zoo! You and your partner should meet up with my family and I this summer on our 40 zoo/aquarium road trip. Maybe you can get us a behind-the-scenes tour with some exotic animals at a local zoo.
Oh I never thought this photo would be misleading. There is a glass window in between us! This is inside the giraffe barn and the okapi were in their stalls. I wish I could feed an okapi!
I'm working on one day getting connections to go behind the scenes at a zoo! The only zoo I am going to this summer that's on your itinerary is the Virginia Zoo & Aquarium. We're heading to the zoo July 17th -- I can't wait! I'm hoping to see the male tapir trotting, the binturongs, the sun bears venturing in their exhibit, and if I could see the orangs outside, that be icing on the cake!
