Old Hippo Exhibit?

Can anyone confirm this? There are two unused, dried up pools on both side.
According to the lighting master plan, it looks like the new penguin exhibit will be in front of the Arctic area(which makes no sense species wise, though I'm guessing it'll be built into the hill to make the underwater viewing easier). Check out the plans... Oh and if you notice, there may be another prairie dog exhibit in the works--over kill in my opinion.

Those plans aren't very clear to me.

What's not clear? The top of the plan shows the sitatunga exhibit and the old outdoor hippo pools pictured on this thread(purple #10). The penguin pool would be shown on the lower right side/corner of the plans which in real life would be where the polar bear statue is now right in front. The main entrance/tram drop off area would be to the right of the number 11. The upper right hand corner is the location of the old hippo house which is now just a field, in real life it would be on your right hand side as you walk through the gates from the tram drop off. the prairie dog exhibit would be to the right and above the #6 toward the left hand corner of the plans, which in real life would be along the access road next to the sitatunga yard and in front of the train tracks/ merry-go-round on the way out of the food court area

This exhibit will become the new vulture and crowned crane exhibit once the penguin exhibit is completed this fall.

Interesting! I see they cut into the exhibit a little bit with the penguin construction. But I like they will finally be utilizing the space. Especially since the vultures lost their exhibit to the new direction of the boardwalk.

The exhibit inhabitants for this new renovated space will now be flamingos. A volunteer at the Zoo told me that the two vultures passed away within a few weeks of each other and the demi cranes were moved to another exhibit. I was at the Zoo a few days ago (sorry, no pictures) but the pool has been filled in a bit and a foundation for what I can assume is their holding building has been constructed. A ring of boulders surrounds 3/4 of the exhibit so far. There is a really large tower off to the side of the new exhibit which I assume is the filtration unit for the new penguin exhibit. I'm not totally sure how they are going to hide that huge thing.
